Irish waters supply the seafood known as scampi, or Irish bay prawns or langoustines. These pristine waters are an ideal habitat for langoustines.

A banquet normally begins with these delicacies presented as an appetizer. Chefs and consumers alike appreciate the sweet, meaty flavour of these scampi.

These large and succulent shellfish are frozen, allowing restaurants to prepare and serve them whenever they want. Chefs also prefer the whole Scampi 8 to 12 in a kilo pack size. It is enough to feed four people a delicious seafood dinner with this quantity of scampi.

Raw lobster is closer in taste to them than prawns, and the best way to enjoy them is raw. The best way to serve them is with a sauce of sweet chilli peppers.

You can serve them with just a bit of lemon and some mayo, garlic butter, or an aioli, but you can also use them as a substitute for shrimp or prawns in dishes like paella, curry, and pasta. As an alternative, dredge them in batter and deep-fry them, or use them for scampi provencale.

Because it is difficult to transport live langoustine, your langoustine will be delivered raw and frozen, so defrosting them overnight is a good idea. Store them at -18 degrees Celsius. Products in their frozen state have a best before the date that appears on their packaging. Cooking instructions are always provided on their packaging or labels. The Best Whole Scampi Ever

These sweet, succulent and highly flavoured langoustines or prawns from Dublin Bay are an absolute delight. The meat of this shellfish is less calorie-dense than typical fish or shellfish, and the taste of its meat is excellent when stir-fried, grilled or cooked with olive oil, garlic, and pepper.

The Scampi is a crustacean that is a great source of carotenoids and omega-3 fatty acids. As well as being tasty, Scampi also contain high amounts of magnesium, vitamin B12, and selenium, which are beneficial for illnesses related to the heart and depression.

To cook them, you need to place them in boiling water, salt them well, and boil for three to five minutes. Then drain them and serve with mayonnaise and lemon. Try making a Langoustine ravioli by using ginger broth and mushrooms to add a bit of zing.
