    Ingredients

    • 2 lbs. halibut fillets
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon sea salt
    • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

    Method

    • Step-by-Step Method: Baked Halibut with Garlic and Herbs
    • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F)
    • Pat dry halibut fillets with paper towel
    • Brush both sides of halibut fillets with olive oil
    • Place halibut fillets in a single layer in a lightly oiled baking dish
    • Season halibut on both sides with salt and black pepper
    • In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped parsley, and chopped thyme
    • Sprinkle the herb and garlic mixture evenly over the top of the halibut fillets
    • Drizzle lemon juice over the top of the fillets
    • Pour melted butter evenly over the fillets
    • Place the baking dish in the center of the oven
    • Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until halibut flakes easily with a fork and is opaque in the center (internal temp ≈ 55°C / 130°F)
    • Remove from oven and let rest for 2 minutes
    • Plate each halibut fillet with a spoonful of pan juices for flavor and moisture
    • Garnish with a few extra fresh herb leaves if desired
    • Serve with lemon wedges and a crisp green salad or steamed seasonal vegetables
