    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

    Method

    • Step-by-Step Method for Bang Bang Shrimp
    • Rinse peeled and deveined shrimp under cold water, then pat completely dry with paper towels
    • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth for the bang bang sauce
    • In a shallow bowl, combine all-purpose flour and cornstarch, mix well
    • Pour panko bread crumbs into a separate shallow dish
    • Dredge each shrimp in the flour-cornstarch mixture, ensuring an even coat
    • Shake off excess flour, then press each shrimp into the panko to thoroughly coat all sides
    • Line a tray with parchment paper and place coated shrimp on it in a single layer
    • In a heavy pan or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F)
    • When oil is ready, carefully add a batch of shrimp (do not overcrowd), frying 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy
    • With a slotted spoon, transfer cooked shrimp to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil
    • Repeat frying for remaining shrimp
    • In a large bowl, gently toss hot shrimp with the prepared bang bang sauce until evenly coated
    • Transfer sauced shrimp to a serving platter
    • Garnish with thinly sliced green onions and a sprinkle of black or white sesame seeds, if desired
    • Serve immediately as an appetizer or over a bed of shredded lettuce or cabbage for a main dish
