    Ingredients

    • 4 (6-ounce) barramundi fillets
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil - 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
    • 1 teaspoon capers, rinsed and drained
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
    • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

    Method

    • Step-by-Step Method: Barramundi with Lemon and Capers
    • Pat the barramundi fillets dry with paper towels
    • Season both sides of the fillets evenly with salt and freshly ground black pepper
    • Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat
    • Once the oil shimmers, gently add the barramundi fillets skin-side down (if skin is on)
    • Sear the fillets without moving them for 3–4 minutes, until golden and nearly opaque at the edges
    • Flip the fillets carefully and cook an additional 2–3 minutes, until cooked through and just flaking
    • Transfer the cooked fillets to a warm plate, tent lightly with foil
    • Reduce skillet heat to medium-low
    • Add 2 tablespoons butter to the skillet, swirling until melted
    • Stir in 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 teaspoon capers, gently loosening any browned bits
    • Spoon the lemon-caper butter sauce over the reserved barramundi fillets
    • Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
    • Plate fillets attractively; garnish with additional lemon wedges on the side for squeezing
    • Serve immediately, ensuring each portion is sauced and garnished
