    • 3 tablespoons melted butter

    Method

    • How to Make Clam Fritters
    • In a small bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and ground black pepper.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, melted butter, and milk until fully combined.
    • Carefully stir chopped clams, chopped onion, and chopped bell pepper into the wet mixture.
    • Gradually fold the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until a batter forms; do not overmix.
    • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or heavy-bottomed pan to 175°C (350°F).
    • While oil is heating, use two spoons or a small scoop to portion out the fritter batter.
    • Gently drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
    • Fry fritters in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, turning once, until golden brown and crisp.
    • Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on a wire rack or paper-towel-lined plate.
    • Repeat frying process until all batter is used.
    • For plating, stack fritters neatly on a warm serving plate, garnish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs (optional) and an extra pinch of black pepper.
    • Serve immediately with lemon wedges, a light salad, or your choice of dipping sauce on the side.
