    Ingredients

    • 1 cup chopped clams
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 egg
    • 3 tablespoons melted butter
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
    • Vegetable oil for frying

    Method

    • 1. In a large bowl, combine the clams, flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
    • 2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, butter, and milk.
    • 3. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
    • 4. Stir in the onion and bell pepper.
    • 5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • 6. Drop the batter by the tablespoonful into the hot oil.
    • 7. Fry the fritters for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
    • 8. Remove the fritters from the oil and drain on paper towels.
    • 9. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
