    • 1 lb cod fillets
    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
    • 1 tablespoon minced onion
    • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
    • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    • Begin by preparing the batter for the cod fillets. Mix the all-purpose flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper in a shallow bowl.

    • Dip each cod fillet into the batter, and coat it thoroughly.

    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Once the oil is hot, add the battered cod fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until the fish is golden brown and cooked through.

    • To make the tartar sauce, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, minced onion, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and dill weed in a small bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.
