    Ingredients

    • 1 pound fresh mullet fillets
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
    • 1/2 cup white vinegar
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/4 cup ketchup
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

    Method

    • To prepare Fried Mullet with Sweet and Sour Sauce, combine the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in a shallow bowl.
    • Dip the mullet fillets in the seasoned flour, coating both sides evenly.
    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Once the oil is hot, add the mullet fillets and fry for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. 
    • While the fish is frying, prepare the sweet and sour sauce. Combine the vinegar, sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, ginger, garlic powder, and pepper in a small saucepan. 
    • Bring to a low boil, stirring occasionally, and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
