    • How to Make Fried Skate Wings Five-Spice Salt
    • Pat the skate wings dry using paper towels
    • Cut skate wings into even-sized portions for even cooking
    • Combine five-spice powder and salt in a small bowl and set aside
    • Spread the plain flour onto a plate or shallow dish
    • Dredge each skate wing portion in the flour, coating evenly and shaking off excess
    • Lay dredged skate wings on a plate, keeping them separated
    • Heat rapeseed oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking
    • Gently place the floured skate wings into the hot oil, ensuring they do not overlap
    • Fry skate wings for 2-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through
    • Remove fried skate wings from pan and place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil
    • While still hot, sprinkle skate wings generously with the prepared five-spice salt
    • In parallel, steam broccoli portions until bright green and just tender, then drain
    • In parallel, cook basmati rice according to package instructions until fluffy
    • Plate fried skate wings with steamed broccoli and a portion of basmati rice
    • Optionally, serve with soy sauce on the side for dipping or drizzling
    • Garnish plate with an extra light sprinkle of five-spice powder for aroma if desired
