    Ingredients

    • 1 lb squid, cleaned and cut into rings
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme

    Method

    • Sauteed Squid with Garlic: Step-by-Step Method
    • Prepare all ingredients: clean and cut squid into rings, mince garlic, chop herbs, and measure all other items.
    • Pat squid rings dry thoroughly with a paper towel to minimize splatter and ensure proper browning.
    • In a small bowl, combine all chopped fresh herbs (parsley, oregano, basil, thyme), mix gently, and set aside.
    • Preheat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.
    • When pan is hot, add olive oil and allow it to heat for 20-30 seconds.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly until fragrant but not browned.
    • Add squid rings to the pan in a single layer; do not overcrowd (cook in batches if necessary for even searing).
    • Sauté squid for 1-2 minutes, stirring or tossing frequently, until just opaque and slightly golden at the edges.
    • Immediately add lemon juice and half of the combined fresh herbs, tossing quickly to coat evenly.
    • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
    • Remove squid from the pan promptly to prevent overcooking; transfer to a serving platter or individual plates.
    • Sprinkle remaining fresh herbs on top for color and freshness.
    • Optional: Drizzle with a touch more olive oil before serving for extra gloss and aroma.
    • Serve immediately while hot, with lemon wedges on the side if desired.
    • Plating suggestion: Arrange squid in a loose ring or mound on a warm plate; scatter herbs and garlic bits over the top for visual appeal.
