    Herring Salad is a traditional dish favourite in many parts of the world. It is a simple dish made with just a few ingredients, but it packs a lot of flavours. Herring is a type of fish packed with nutrition and has a unique flavour that is often used in salads. This salad is easy to prepare and can be served as a light meal or as a side dish.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups of chopped herring
    • 1/2 cup of diced onion
    • 1/2 cup of diced celery
    • 1/2 cup of diced apple
    • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup of sour cream
    • 1 tablespoon of dill
    • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    Method

    • Dice the herring, onion, celery, and apple to prepare Herring Salad. 
    • Place the diced ingredients in a bowl and add the mayonnaise, sour cream, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix the ingredients until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined. 
    • The salad can then be served chilled or at room temperature.
