    Ingredients

    • 4 mackerel fillets
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons mirin 
    • 2 tablespoons sake
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 
    • 1 teaspoon grated ginger 
    • 1 teaspoon grated garlic

    Method

    • To prepare Mackerel Teriyaki, begin by marinating the mackerel fillets in a mixture of soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, vegetable oil, ginger, and garlic. Allow the fish to marinate for at least 30 minutes. 
    • Once the fish has been marinated, heat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat. 
    • Add the mackerel fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes per side. 
    • Once the fish has cooked through, it is ready to serve.
