  • Oyster Sliders

    Oyster sliders are an easy and delicious way to enjoy the flavour of the sea. They are a great appetizer or light meal and can be prepared in minutes. These sliders are made with shucked oysters, olive oil, butter, lemon juice, garlic, capers, parsley, and seasonings. They are then topped with mayonnaise, lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, and pickles. Serve on slider buns for a delicious and satisfying meal.

    Ingredients

    • 12 slider buns
    • 2 dozen oysters, shucked
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
    • 2 tablespoons capers
    • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
    • 1/4 cup shredded lettuce
    • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
    • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
    • 1/4 cup sliced pickles

    Method

    • How to Make Oyster Sliders
    • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) for toasting slider buns
    • Place slider buns on a baking tray, set aside for later toasting
    • Rinse shucked oysters gently under cold water, drain and pat dry with paper towels
    • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until butter is melted and mixture is sizzling
    • Add minced garlic to skillet and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant
    • Add oysters to skillet in a single layer, sear 1–2 minutes per side until golden and just cooked through, do not overcook
    • Add capers to skillet, sauté briefly with oysters for enhanced flavor
    • Add fresh lemon juice to skillet, toss oysters gently to coat, season with salt and pepper to taste, remove from heat
    • While oysters are cooking, toast slider buns in oven for 3–5 minutes until lightly golden
    • Prepare garnishes: shred lettuce, slice red onion, dice tomatoes, slice pickles, chop fresh parsley
    • Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted slider bun
    • Arrange a small bed of shredded lettuce on each bun base
    • Place 2 cooked oysters onto each bun over the lettuce
    • Sprinkle diced tomatoes and sliced red onion over the oysters
    • Top with sliced pickles and scatter chopped fresh parsley on top
    • Cap each slider with the toasted bun top
    • Arrange on a platter, serve immediately while warm with extra lemon wedges if desired
