    Ingredients

    • 4 plaice fillets
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • Juice of 1 lemon
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

    Method

    • Plaice Fillets with Lemon and Garlic – Step by Step Method
    • Pat the plaice fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture
    • Season the plaice fillets lightly with salt and pepper on both sides
    • Set a non-stick frying pan or skillet over medium heat
    • While the pan heats, mince the garlic cloves finely
    • Add the olive oil to the pan and allow it to warm for 30 seconds
    • Add the minced garlic to the pan, stirring gently for 30–60 seconds until fragrant but not browned
    • Carefully place the plaice fillets in the pan, skin-side down if applicable
    • Cook the fillets for 2–3 minutes without moving them, allowing a gentle sear
    • Flip each fillet gently and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, until opaque and just cooked through
    • Squeeze the juice of one lemon evenly over the fish while still in the pan
    • Transfer the cooked fillets to serving plates using a fish spatula
    • Spoon any remaining garlic-lemon oil from the pan over the fillets
    • Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley if using for color and freshness
    • Optional: Plate with lemon wedges or serve alongside steamed vegetables or simple greens
