    Ingredients

    • 4 plaice fillets
    • 4 slices of bacon, diced
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 1 onion, finely chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
    • 1/2 cup white wine
    • 1/2 cup chicken stock
    • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    Method

    • To prepare Plaice with Bacon and Mushroom Sauce, begin by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat. 
    • Add the bacon and cook until crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon and set aside. 
    • Add the butter to the pan and melt. 
    • Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. 
    • Add the mushrooms and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. 
    • Pour in the white wine and chicken stock and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. 
    • Add the plaice fillets and cook for about 5 minutes, flipping once. 
    • Add the bacon, parsley, salt and pepper and stir to combine. 
    • Serve the plaice with the bacon and mushroom sauce. Enjoy!
