    Ingredients

    • 4 plaice fillets
    • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
    • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
    • Lemon wedges, for serving

    Method

    • How to Make Plaice with Lemon and Herb Butter
    • Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F)
    • Pat plaice fillets dry with kitchen paper
    • Season fillets on both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper
    • Mix softened butter, chopped parsley, chopped chives, and lemon juice in a small bowl to form a herb butter
    • Lay plaice fillets on a parchment-lined baking tray
    • Spread or dot herb butter evenly over the surface of each fillet
    • Bake plaice fillets for 8–10 minutes, or until just opaque and flaky
    • While the fish bakes, cut lemon into wedges for serving
    • Remove tray from oven and gently transfer fillets to warm plates using a spatula
    • Spoon any melted herb butter from the tray over the fillets
    • Garnish with additional chopped herbs if desired
    • Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side
