    Ingredients

    • 2 medium-sized Pomfrets
    • 2 tablespoons of cornflour
    • 2 tablespoons of plain flour
    • 2 tablespoons of chilli powder
    • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
    • 1 teaspoon of garam masala
    • Salt to taste
    • 2 tablespoons of oil
    • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped ginger
    • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped garlic
    • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped green chillies
    • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped coriander leaves
    • 1/2 cup of water
    • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

    Method

    • To prepare Pomfret Chilly Fry, first clean and wash the Pomfret fish. 
    • Then mix together the cornflour, plain flour, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt in a bowl. 
    • Heat the oil in a pan and add the ginger, garlic, green chillies and coriander leaves. Then add the fish and the prepared spice mix and fry for 5 minutes. 
    • Add the water and simmer for 10 minutes until the fish is cooked. 
    • Finally, add the lemon juice and serve hot.
