    Ingredients

    • 4 Pomfret fish
    • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
    • 2 tablespoons oil
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
    • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped coriander leaves
    • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped mint leaves
    • 1 teaspoon garam masala
    • Juice of 1 lime
    • 2 tablespoons Besan/Gram flour

    Method

    • Step-by-Step Method for Pomfret Fry
    • Clean and pat dry the Pomfret fish thoroughly
    • Make shallow diagonal slits on both sides of each fish for even marination
    • In a small bowl, mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, salt, garam masala, and Besan (gram flour)
    • Add freshly chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves to the spice mix and combine
    • Squeeze the juice of 1 lime into the mixture and blend into a thick paste
    • Coat each Pomfret fish with the paste, ensuring the marinade fills the slits and covers all sides
    • Let the marinated fish rest for at least 15–20 minutes for optimal flavor absorption
    • While the fish rests, heat oil in a skillet or non-stick pan over medium heat
    • Once the oil is hot, carefully place the marinated fish onto the pan
    • Fry the Pomfret for 3–4 minutes on each side until the exterior is golden brown and crisp
    • Remove the fish from pan and drain excess oil on paper towels
    • Plate the Pomfret Fry on a serving dish
    • Garnish with extra chopped coriander and mint leaves
    • Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side or a fresh herb salad
