    • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
    • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons oil
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 teaspoon garam masala
    • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped coriander leaves
    • 2 tablespoons freshly grated coconut

    Method

    • Rinse and pat dry the pomfret slices thoroughly
    • In a small bowl, combine red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt
    • Stir in lemon juice to form a thick masala paste

    • Let the marinated fish rest for at least 20 minutes
    • While the fish is marinating, chop fresh coriander leaves and grate fresh coconut, then set aside
    • Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat
    • Carefully place the marinated pomfret slices into the pan without overcrowding
    • Fry the fish for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through
    • Remove the fried pomfret from the pan and drain on kitchen paper
    • Sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves and freshly grated coconut before serving
    • For plating, arrange the pomfret slices on a platter and garnish with extra coriander and coconut
    • Serve hot, with lemon wedges on the side if desired
