Place the sardines on a grill pan and sprinkle with chilli, garlic and lemon juice and some salt and pepper.
Drizzle each sardine with olive oil. Put on the grill pan over a medium-high heat for 3 minutes each side or until cooked through and the flesh flakes away easily from the bone.
Place the lemon halves at the bottom of the grill pan and grill for the final 3 minutes of the cooking time.
Serve drizzled with the remaining lemon flesh and sprinkling with extra chilli, garlic and lemon.
Serving Suggestions: Serve with a few drops of Tabasco, and charred lemon halves plus a salad of Romaine lettuce or new potatoes.
