    Shrimp lettuce wraps are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main dish. These wraps are made with cooked shrimp, lettuce, bell peppers, carrots, green onions, cilantro, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. They are packed with flavour and are a great way to get your daily dose of protein and vegetables. Plus, they are easy to make and can be ready in just minutes.

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb. cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 1 head butter lettuce
    • 1/2 cup sliced red bell pepper
    • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
    • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
    • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
    • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    Method

    • Step-by-Step Method for Shrimp Lettuce Wraps
    • Rinse butter lettuce leaves gently under cold water and pat dry
    • Arrange the whole lettuce leaves on a plate, ready to be filled
    • Slice red bell pepper into very thin strips and set aside
    • Shred carrots using a grater or julienne peeler and set aside
    • Chop green onions into fine slices and set aside
    • Chop fresh cilantro finely and set aside
    • In a mixing bowl, combine hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar; stir until blended
    • Add cooked shrimp to the mixing bowl with the sauce, season lightly with salt and pepper, and toss to coat evenly
    • Lay out the lettuce leaves
    • In parallel, distribute an even amount of the shrimp mixture into each lettuce leaf
    • Layer sliced red bell pepper, shredded carrots, chopped green onions, and cilantro on top of the shrimp in each wrap
    • Fold or cup each lettuce leaf around the filling to form wraps
    • Arrange filled lettuce wraps on a serving platter in a circular or fanned pattern for presentation
    • Garnish each wrap with a sprinkle of extra green onions or cilantro if desired
    • Serve immediately as a light main or appetizer
