    • 1/2 cup white wine

    • Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)

    Method

    • Step-by-Step Method for Shrimp Scampi
    • Thaw shrimp if frozen, then pat dry with paper towels
    • Peel and devein shrimp (if not already done)
    • Season shrimp lightly with salt and pepper; set aside
    • Prepare and mince garlic cloves
    • Chop fresh parsley and set aside
    • Measure out white wine and lemon juice
    • Add 3 tablespoons of butter to a large skillet
    • Place skillet over medium heat and melt the butter
    • Add minced garlic to melted butter, sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds)
    • Raise heat to medium-high; add shrimp in a single layer to the skillet
    • Sauté shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side, until just turning pink
    • Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside on a plate
    • Carefully pour white wine and lemon juice into the skillet, bring mixture to a simmer
    • Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom for extra flavor
    • Simmer sauce for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced
    • Optionally, add red pepper flakes for gentle heat
    • Return shrimp to skillet, toss to coat with sauce, and heat through (about 1 minute)
    • Taste and adjust salt, pepper, and lemon juice as desired
    • Sprinkle chopped parsley over the shrimp scampi
    • Serve immediately, spooning sauce over shrimp
    • Plating suggestion: Arrange shrimp in a shallow bowl, pour pan sauce over, and garnish with extra parsley and a lemon wedge
