    • 1/2 tablespoon red chilli powder
    • 1/4 tablespoon turmeric
    • 1/2 tablespoon salt
    • 1/2 tablespoon mustard oil
    • 3-4 tablespoons lemon juice
    • Oil for greasing

    Method

    • Clean the whole golden pomfret under running water and pat dry with a kitchen towel
    • Use a sharp knife to make shallow diagonal slashes on both sides of the fish for marinade penetration
    • In a separate bowl, combine yoghurt, mustard paste, red chilli powder, turmeric, salt, mustard oil, and lemon juice
    • Mix the marinade ingredients thoroughly until smooth and homogeneous
    • Gently rub the marinade mixture all over the fish, ensuring it gets into the slashes and cavity
