    • 2 cans of tuna, drained
    • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 4 slices of bread
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    Method

    • Drain 2 cans of tuna thoroughly and set aside
    • Dice 1/4 cup celery into small, even pieces
    • Dice 2 tablespoons onion finely
    • In a bowl, combine drained tuna, diced celery, diced onion, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Mix tuna salad ingredients gently until fully incorporated
    • Season tuna mixture with salt and pepper to taste, mixing briefly
    • Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean surface
    • Butter one side of each bread slice evenly, using 2 tablespoons butter in total
    • Flip bread so the buttered side faces down
    • Evenly divide the tuna mixture between 2 slices of bread, pressing flat
    • Place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on top of each mound of tuna salad
    • Cap each assembly with remaining bread slices, buttered side facing up
    • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat
    • Carefully place assembled sandwiches in skillet, buttered side down
    • Cook each side until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3–4 minutes per side
    • Remove sandwiches from skillet and let rest briefly for easier slicing
    • Cut each sandwich in half for serving
