  • 1 1/2 lbs cod fillets
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground paprika
  • lemon slices
  • Herbs, parsley or cilantro for garnishing


  • Rinse the fish fillets and pat them dry.

  • In a skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.

  • Sear the fillets for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until browned and slightly crispy.

  • Remove from heat and plate on a warm platter.

  • For the butter sauce, melt the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat and add the garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  • Mix well and then pour this mixture over the fish fillets. Serve immediately.

  • Serving Suggestions: Serve with lemon slices on the side or garnish with herbs such as parsley or cilantro.
