    Ingredients

    • 4 (6-ounce) cod fillets
    • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
    • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

    Method

    • Cod with Garlic-Herb Butter: Step-by-Step Method
    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
    • Pat cod fillets dry with paper towels
    • Season cod fillets with salt and pepper on both sides
    • Place cod fillets in a baking dish or oven-safe pan
    • In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped chives, and chopped thyme
    • Mix the garlic-herb butter until evenly combined
    • Spread the garlic-herb butter evenly over the top of each cod fillet
    • Prepare lemon wedges for serving (optional)
    • Bake the cod fillets for 12-15 minutes, or until fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork
    • While cod bakes, clean and warm plates for serving
    • When cod is cooked, carefully transfer each fillet to a plate
    • Spoon melted herb butter from the pan over the cod fillets
    • Garnish each serving with extra chopped herbs if desired
    • Add a lemon wedge to each plate for squeezing over the fish
    • Serve immediately while hot
