    Ingredients

    • 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 4 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
    • 1/4 cup white wine or chicken broth
    • Lemon wedges for garnish (optional)

    Method

    • Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and set aside
    • Mince garlic cloves and chop fresh parsley
    • Measure all other ingredients accurately
    • In a large skillet, add olive oil and butter, then heat over medium-high until butter is melted and foamy
    • While heating butter and oil, season shrimp evenly with salt and black pepper
    • Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté gently for 30 seconds until fragrant, do not brown
    • Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer
    • Sear shrimp undisturbed for 1-2 minutes until the underside is opaque and lightly golden
    • Flip shrimp and immediately add red pepper flakes
    • Cook for 1 minute, stirring gently to combine flavors
    • Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth), scraping up any browned bits
    • Allow liquid to simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly reduced and shrimp are just cooked through
    • Remove pan from heat and stir in fresh parsley
    • Immediately transfer shrimp to a warm serving plate
    • Spoon pan sauce over shrimp evenly
    • Garnish with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing
    • Serve immediately, optionally with crusty bread or steamed vegetables
