Begin by cleaning the mussels and clams. Discard any that are cracked or open.
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Add the garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add the butter and stir until melted.
Add the white wine and chicken broth and bring to a boil.
Add the mussels and clams and reduce the heat to low.
Cover the pot and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the mussels and clams have opened. Discard any that have not opened.
Add the red pepper flakes, parsley, salt, and pepper and stir to combine. Serve warm.
