1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the onion and garlic and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Add the crushed red pepper flakes, tomatoes, and white wine and simmer for about 10 minutes.
4. Add the mussels, cover the skillet, and cook for 5 minutes, or until the mussels have opened.
5. Remove the mussels from the skillet and set aside.
6. Add the butter to the sauce and stir until melted.
7. Return the mussels to the skillet and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
8. Sprinkle with the chopped parsley and serve.
