    Ingredients

    • 4 red snapper fillets
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/3 cup white wine
    • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 1 tablespoon butter

    Method

    • Step-by-Step Method: Red Snapper with White Wine and Herb Sauce
    • Pat the red snapper fillets dry with paper towels
    • Season the fillets evenly with salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides
    • Place a nonstick skillet or sauté pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • Once the oil shimmers, add the red snapper fillets skin side down (if skin-on) to the hot pan
    • Sear the fillets for 2-3 minutes without moving them, allowing the surface to turn golden
    • Flip the fillets gently and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until just opaque and cooked through
    • Remove the fillets from the pan and set aside, keeping them warm (cover loosely with foil)
    • In the same skillet, lower heat to medium and add the minced garlic, sauté 30 seconds until fragrant
    • Pour in the white wine, deglaze the pan, and scrape up any flavorful bits with a wooden spoon
    • Add the lemon juice, dried oregano, and butter to the pan, swirling until butter melts and sauce combines
    • Stir in the chopped parsley and simmer the sauce for 1 minute to meld flavors
    • Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary
    • Return the red snapper fillets to the pan, spooning sauce lightly over each piece to reheat gently for 30 seconds
    • For serving, place each fillet on a warm plate and spoon some herb sauce over the top
    • Garnish with an extra sprinkle of parsley and a lemon wedge on the side
    • Serve immediately with your choice of steamed greens or a light salad for a complete meal
