    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons capers
    • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

    Method

    • Step-by-Step Method for Haddock with Caper-Lemon Sauce
    • Pat haddock fillets dry with paper towels
    • Season both sides of haddock fillets lightly with salt and pepper
    • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a nonstick frying pan over medium heat
    • Once the oil is hot, add 1 tablespoon butter to the pan and allow it to melt
    • Gently place haddock fillets in the pan, presentation side down
    • Cook fillets for 2-3 minutes without moving them, until golden underneath
    • Carefully turn fillets, add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and butter
    • Continue cooking fillets another 2-3 minutes until just opaque and flaky
    • Remove haddock to warm serving plates and tent loosely with foil
    • Add capers to the pan and fry gently for 30 seconds
    • Add lemon juice to the pan and swirl to deglaze, scraping any brown bits
    • Simmer sauce for 30–60 seconds to slightly reduce
    • Spoon caper-lemon sauce evenly over cooked haddock fillets
    • Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
    • Plate fillets attractively, pouring any remaining sauce over the top
    • Serve immediately with your favorite light side (steamed greens, boiled potatoes, or rice recommended)
