    The skate is a fish that makes many people scared. But, you shouldn't be! The flesh of the fish slides away from the bone with ease, try it out!

    Ingredients

    • 500g skate wings
    • 1 tablespoon five-spice powder
    • 50g plain flour
    • 2 tablespoon rapeseed oil
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 4 portions steamed broccoli
    • Soy Sauce
    • 1 drop Soy Sauce4 portions Basmati rice

    Method

    • Mix half the Five-Spice with salt, oil and water to make a paste

    • Place skate wings in a bowl, add half of the Five-Spice and mix well.

    • Add flour, mix well and then add the remaining Five-Spice.

    • Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the skate wings for about 5 minutes on each side.

    • When the fish is cooked, transfer it to a plate to serve.

    • Serving Suggestions: Garnish with parsley and serve with tartare sauce and lemon wedges to squeeze over. Or you may serve on a bed of steamed broccoli and drizzle soy sauce on top. Serve with plain basmati rice or fried bread.
