Coho Salmon Fillet 170g – Skin On, Individually Vacuum Packed
Our Coho salmon fillets (Oncorhynchus kisutch) are sourced from the pristine coastal waters off Chile, where cold, clean currents produce salmon with exceptional flavour and texture. Each 170g fillet arrives individually vacuum-packed and frozen at peak freshness, locking in all the natural goodness.
Coho salmon – also known as Silver salmon – is prized for its firm, orange flesh and delicate, slightly sweet flavour that sits between the richness of Atlantic salmon and the leanness of pink salmon. The skin-on fillet holds together beautifully during cooking and adds extra crispness when pan-fried.
What It Tastes Like
Coho salmon has a mild, slightly sweet flavour with a medium fat content that keeps the flesh moist during cooking. The texture is firm yet tender, with a satisfying flake. It pairs wonderfully with citrus, dill, soy, and ginger.
Cooking Suggestions
- Pan-Fried: Season with salt and pepper, place skin-side down in a hot pan with oil for 3–4 minutes until crispy, flip and cook for 2 minutes more. Serve with a lemon and herb butter.
- Oven-Roasted: Place on a lined baking tray, drizzle with olive oil, season and roast at 200°C for 12–15 minutes until flaky.
- En Croûte: Wrap in puff pastry with spinach and cream cheese for an elegant dinner party centrepiece.
- Asian-Style Glaze: Brush with a mix of soy sauce, honey, garlic and ginger, then grill or bake until caramelised.
