Whole Manx Kippers 1kg

Isle of Man

A kipper is a fish that has been cut from the tail to the head, emptied of its inside, and then preserved in salt, then smoked.

Availilability: In Stock

They are a common breakfast and teatime snack, as well as a delicious lunch and dinner option. Manx kippers are herring, but they’re just any fish harvested in huge numbers during the spawning season. As spawning yields a lot of fish, they are salted and smoked to boost the taste and retain their abundance. The Isle of Man is known for making some of the world’s best kippers. Our Manx whole kippers are wild, undyed, and a great product that is somewhat drier than our Scottish kippers, but then you can still smell the delicious scent as soon as you open the pack! We sell wild Manx whole kippers in 1-kilo bags of 6 to 7 kippers per pack.

Kippers are one of our top sellers, and they have an excellent rating for their delectable, delicate flavour. We make sure they have a fine texture, colour, and delicate flavour at all times.

Our oak smoked kippers are made from sustainably sourced herring.
